After spending a year with the Belfast Bruins, gritty forward Simon Black has returned to the Northern Cyclones. An original member of the team, Simon played 9 games for the Cyclones in their inaugural season, racking up 14 points along the way.
Simon brings a wealth of experience and success to the team having won the NIIHA Senior League twice, the IHI League and Playoffs, and also has a Valley Vase winners medal in his collection.
Simon is the second player to have joined from the Bruins for next season and like Malcolm Caughers, Simon hopes to capture the NIIHA Playoffs as it is the only NIIHA competition that he has not yet won.
The addition of Black will make competition for places even tighter and could force coaches David Nicolai and James Glover to make some very difficult decisions.
