Biography

‘Big Bri’ joined the Cyclones in 2006 having played ice hockey for over 20 years. He brought experience and a cool head between the pipes and his sheer size and quick reactions meant that putting a puck past him was never easy. Brian was the backbone for both the Cyclones Playoff Championships in 2006 and 2007 and will be remembered fondly for making huge saves at important times of the game.

Brian’s final game would turn out to be his finest as the Cyclones faced their fierce rivals the Belfast Bruins in the Playoff Final. After a tight game that ended 1-1, penalties were required to separate the two teams. Bri stole the show, shutting out the Bruins on 3 of their 4 penalties and subsequently lifting the Playoff trophy for the 2nd year in succession.

At the end of the 2007/08 season Brian decided to retire at the grand old age of 40 and was voted ‘Players Player of the Year’ by his teammates.
